Look:
The blue tit is the only tit with a blue cap, tail, and wings. Combined with its white face and black eye stripe, it's hard to mistake for a blue tit. Juveniles, on the other hand, are dressed somewhat duller and look a bit scruffy.
Agree:
The song of the blue tit is very varied and usually begins with a high-pitched "tii-tii." A trilling buzz is characteristic. The begging calls of the young birds, starting in May, are also unmistakable.
Happen:
Preferred breeding sites are treetops in open deciduous forests, parks, and gardens. Outside of the breeding season, these lively garden dwellers can be found almost everywhere – usually in small groups. They particularly like to stay in the reeds around bodies of water. Blue tits are sedentary birds.
Lifestyle/Behavior:
The blue tit is a cavity nester. They breed either in natural cavities or, as is now quite common in Central Europe, in nesting boxes. If you want to specifically attract blue tits, you should ensure that the entrance hole in your "tit box" is only 26 to 28 millimeters wide. Blue tits are very lively birds. They are constantly on the move, exploring their surroundings. They can often be seen hanging upside down from thin branches.
Food/Feeding:
During the breeding season, blue tits feed primarily on small insects, such as aphids. Later in the year, they add various seeds, as well as fruit and berries. In winter, bird feeders are a popular meeting place for tits. In spring, nectar, pollen, and insects are on the menu.
